Offense Highlights

Red Sox

Red Sox Team - I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone on the Red Sox team this year. We had a heck of a season and overcome a lot of injuries. I want to welcome Frank back to our league. The team wasn't the same without ya.
Mike Sheehan - I wanted to congradulate the White Sox on a great game yesterday, and wish both teams the best of luck next week. Great season coaching Gary and Ian.

White Sox

Noel Hernandez - HUGE game, 2-2, 2 runs, 2 RBI, BB, SB. Leadoff HR to start things off. The straw that stirs the drink.
John Mallin - 2-3, 1 run, 1 RBI. Big 2-out double in the 8th to pad the lead. *** George Flanders stays hot, 2-3.
Peter Hanson - 1-2, 1 run. Leadoff double in the 3rd to start a rally. *** Matt Dion 1-2, 1 run, SB. *** Gary Lacroix 1-2, RBI
White Sox Team - Everyone battling at the plate and making contact. *** Congrats to Red Sox on a great season and for being such class acts. Best Wishes to Jack O'Neill on his retirement.

Defense Highlights

Red Sox

Red Sox Team - Solid team defense today. We played well, we just needed to string some more hits together. It was a pleasure coaching you guys this year. See you guys in the offseason.

White Sox

 Jeff Allison - Pitched a gem. 8 strong innings. 9Ks & 1BB.
Sam Descoteaux - BIG catch off a Brian Cole rocket in LF. Showed off his 'vertical' as well on a liner at 2B.
Noel Hernandez - Flawless play at SS. *** John Mallin - great job behind the plate for all 9.
White Sox Team - Solid game on D. Made most of the plays and the mistakes did not hurt us.

Offense Highlights

Dodgers

 Jon Smithers - 3-4, 2 Doubles, RBI
Shawn Smith - 2-4,Triple, RBI, RS, SB
 Nick Gladyszak - 2-3, BB, 2 SB
Dodgers Team - We were one hit away several times from winning this thing...Great, great game but painful way to end a great playoff run

Orioles

Orioles Team - Congrats to the Dodgers on a great season and to Keith for pitching a helluva game. It's rare to face a team 3 times in an OTB season, and it was a pleasure each time.
Vinny Cimmino - Walk off double. Amazing.
 Rob Guarino - 2-4, 2R, SB

Defense Highlights

Dodgers

Dodgers Team - Hats off to the Orioles for a hard-fought win. Good luck in the finals. ****Dodgers - great season with contributions from everyone. Looking forward to building on this next year!!
Nick Gladyszak - several nice plays tracking down fly balls, including two sliding grabs*** Nate Warner and Tom Zahareas - several nice running catches in the OF.
Keith Comeau - Another gutsy 9 inning effort...deserved the win, but the D let you down.
Scott Oppenheim - Solid plays at third, including a diving stop of a groundball and again diving to the bag for a force out

Orioles

Vinny Cimmino - Michael Garon - These two guys have kept us in every game this year by throwing strikes, keeping the opposing hitters off balance, and always staying centered. Can't say enough about what a joy it is playing behind these two aces.
Rich Gottesman - 6 assists, but the best play was one where we didn't get an out, but Rich dove and kept a hard hit grounder from going through the hole - saved a potential game winning run right there.
Brian Belair - Giving it his all once again, making amazing diving catches and leaving nothing on the field. A true gamer.
Orioles Team - Great respect to the Dodgers and Red Sox for terrific seasons (and to Rich and Mike for managing those teams). Looking forward to seeing Gary and the White Sox next Sunday! Let's go do it, O's!!!
