2014 OTB-NOTB Hitting Contest at LeLacheur Park!

We have secured LeLacheur Park for our annual Hitting Contest to help raise money for UMass Baseball.

On Sunday morning, September 28, 2014, UMass Baseball will provide pitchers and fielders for us to knock the ball around LeLacheur Park.

The hitting contest will take place before the OTB Championship game. The hitting contest will run from 8:30 - 10:30 AM.

 The Championship game will now start at 11:30 AM.

Similar to previous years, hitters score points by consistently driving the ball, even if no home runs are hit. It’s a great time for a worthy cause.

 Note: Make sure to get to these events early. In past years there have been marathons in Lowell and you may encounter some closed streets, especially around the Tsongas Arena.

A few rules:

• New game balls will be used.
• Hit as many rounds as you like...pay as you go - $20 for 1st round, $5 for any additional rounds.
• Scoring: 200 feet=1 point, 300 feet=2 points, Hit the wall=3 points, Homerun=5 points.
• Your "official" round for scoring will be your highest scoring round.
• Friends and family are invited to watch and can participate in the contest themselves!
• Contest open to all ages.
• Uniforms are optional.
• All baseball bats allowed including wood, aluminum, composite, drop 5’s, whatever...
• An Over-48 age group competition will also be held (pending interest).
